Privacy Policy

CatBoard is built and operated by Reza Ilham, an individual developer based in Indonesia. Purchases are sold by Polar Software Inc. as merchant of record, which means Polar is the seller on your receipt and handles payment processing and tax.

For any question about this policy, or to exercise the rights described below, write to support@catboard.dev.

The core of the product is local. The following never reaches us, in any form:

• Your repositories, source code, diffs and git history.
• Task titles, prompts, instructions and agent output.
• Worktrees, branches and run transcripts.
• Run history, token counts and cost totals.
• Your Pro License Key, which is stored in the macOS Keychain on your machine.

CatBoard does not upload or host repositories. Deleting the app and its application support folder removes this local data.

If you sign up for the private beta on this website, we collect the email address you type and, optionally, which coding agent you use most. That is the whole form.

The submission is stored in a Google Sheet through a Google Apps Script endpoint, and is used only to contact you about beta access and launch. It is not sold, rented or used for unrelated marketing. Ask us at any time and we will delete your entry.

CatBoard ships with anonymous product analytics switched off. Nothing is sent unless you turn it on in Settings, and turning it back off stops collection and resets the local analytics identifier.

When you do enable it, events are processed by PostHog on its United States cloud. The events are limited to:

• App lifecycle events (launch, background, foreground).
• A task was started, with the agent name only (for example, Claude Code).
• The outcome word of a License Key validation, such as granted or not found.
• A click on the Pro checkout button.
• Break screen started and completed.

No event carries prompts, repository names, file paths, diffs, agent output, or your License Key. Analytics is never a condition of using the app.

Checkout runs entirely on Polar. Card numbers and billing details go to Polar and its payment processor, never to us, and we cannot see them. Polar's own privacy policy governs that data, and your invoices and subscription live in the Polar customer portal.

To activate Pro, the app sends your License Key and the name of your Mac (as macOS reports it, for example "Reza's MacBook Pro") to Polar's license endpoint. The Mac name is there so you can tell your two activations apart and release one. Validation repeats periodically to confirm the subscription is still active.

CatBoard checks for new versions through Sparkle, which fetches an update feed we host. Like any web request, that fetch reaches the server with your IP address, your app version and your macOS version in ordinary server logs. It is used to serve the update and to keep the service running, not to profile you.

catboard.dev is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which report aggregate page views and performance without advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

The only thing the site keeps in your browser is your light or dark theme choice, saved in localStorage. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

CatBoard runs the agent CLIs you have already installed, such as Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity. When a task runs, that CLI sends prompts, files and context to its own provider under that provider's terms and privacy policy. CatBoard does not sit in the middle of that traffic and cannot change what a provider receives or retains.

Choose your agents with that in mind, especially for private or regulated code.

• Consent, for product analytics and for the beta waitlist. Withdraw it at any time.
• Performance of a contract, for License Key activation and validation.
• Legitimate interest, for update checks, security and basic server logs.

Waitlist entries are kept until the beta program closes or until you ask us to delete them. Analytics events are retained under PostHog's standard retention for our project. Licensing records are kept by Polar for as long as your subscription and its tax records require. Local data lives on your Mac for as long as you keep it.

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or withdraw consent. Two of these you can do yourself, immediately: switch analytics off in Settings, and delete the app's local data on your Mac.

For everything else, email support@catboard.dev and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

CatBoard is a developer tool and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be announced in the app or by email to waitlist subscribers.
