Terms of Service
Last updated August 12, 2026
These terms cover your use of the CatBoard macOS app, this website, and a Pro subscription. Installing or using CatBoard means you accept them. If you do not, do not install the app.
01Who you are contracting with
CatBoard is operated by Reza Ilham, an individual developer based in Indonesia. For paid subscriptions, Polar Software Inc. acts as merchant of record: Polar is the seller of record on your invoice, collects payment, and remits VAT, GST and sales tax. Polar's own terms apply to the payment transaction alongside these terms.
You must be able to form a binding contract in your country to buy a subscription.
02Your license to use CatBoard
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run CatBoard on Macs you own or control, for personal or commercial work. The software is licensed, not sold.
You may not:
- Resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app or a License Key.
- Share a License Key beyond the activations your plan allows.
- Circumvent, patch or tamper with licensing, the Run Allowance, or update verification.
- Reverse engineer the app, except to the narrow extent local law says you may.
03Free tier and Pro
The free tier gives you 5 agent runs per day and needs no account. Pro removes that daily Run Allowance, uncaps ticket batch auto continuations, and activates on 2 Macs per License Key. You can release a seat yourself when you change machines.
Free tier limits are a product decision and may change as the product evolves. Changes that reduce what an active Pro subscription includes will be announced before they take effect.
04Billing, renewal and cancellation
Pro is a recurring subscription billed through Polar, monthly or annually, and it renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel at any time in the Polar customer portal linked from your receipt. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running to the end of the paid period.
Prices are shown in the checkout currency and may change for future billing periods, with notice before the change applies to you.
05Refunds
Refunds are handled by Polar as merchant of record, under Polar's refund policy. Statutory rights that apply to you are unaffected, including the 14 day right of withdrawal for consumers in the EU and UK. If a refund request stalls, write to us and we will help push it through.
06What CatBoard does to your machine
This is the part to read twice. CatBoard runs coding agent CLIs headlessly, on your machine, without a sandbox. Those agents can create branches and git worktrees, write and delete files inside their worktree, run shell commands, and commit. Merging advances a branch reference in your repository.
You are responsible for what runs under your account: the tasks you write, the agents you pick, the repositories you point them at, and the results you merge. Keep backups and use version control the way you would with any tool that writes to disk. CatBoard is not a substitute for reviewing changes before they land.
07Your code stays yours
We claim no ownership of your repositories, your prompts, or anything an agent produces for you. CatBoard does not upload or host your code. Nothing in these terms gives us a license to your work.
08Third-party agents and their costs
CatBoard orchestrates agent CLIs that you install and authenticate yourself. Their subscriptions, API charges, rate limits, terms and privacy policies are between you and those providers. A CatBoard subscription buys you no agent capacity, and we are not responsible for a provider's outages, pricing, or output.
09Beta software
CatBoard is in beta. Expect defects, breaking changes between versions, and features that move or disappear. Do not rely on it as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
10Warranty disclaimer
CatBoard is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error free, or that agent output will be correct or safe to merge.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.
11Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost profits, or for lost or corrupted code, repositories or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to CatBoard is capped at the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.
Mandatory consumer protections in your country still apply and are not limited by this section.
12Suspension and termination
You can stop using CatBoard at any time by cancelling and uninstalling. We may suspend or terminate a License Key that is used in breach of these terms, for example one shared far beyond its activation limit.
When a subscription ends for any reason, the app falls back to the free tier. Your board, tasks, worktrees and history stay on your machine and remain accessible.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top marks the current version, and material changes will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use CatBoard after that point means you accept the updated terms.
14Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict of law rules, and disputes go to the competent courts of Indonesia. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protections of the mandatory law of your country of residence.
